I’m Rosemary Fotheringham, a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner (NTP) and certified RESTART® Instructor. The RESTART® Program is a group class that teaches the fundamentals of nutrition while also learning how to prepare and eat real, whole foods in a small group setting that provides support and accountability. RESTART® is part nutritional education, part sugar detox, part support group – an empowering combination! The 5-week RESTART® Program is a simple, powerful way to give your body a vacation from having to process toxins like sugar. With a 3-week sugar detox built right in, the program focuses on how to use real food to boost your energy and cut sugar and carb cravings.

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN

Week 1: Preparation

Week 1 is about setting yourself up for success―how to prepare yourself mentally and emotionally for the sugar detox, and how to design an environment that supports you through the process.

Week 2: Digestion

Good health begins with digestion! In Week 2, we’ll talk about how digestion is supposed to work in the body, how it can go wrong, and some practical tips to help your body get all the nutrition out of the real food you’re eating.

Week 3: Blood Sugar

In Week 3, we’ll learn how to get off of the blood sugar roller coaster and say goodbye to mood swings, being hangry, and sugar & carb cravings, and hello to more energy!

Week 4: Fats

Week 4 is all about fats. Fats often get a bad rap, but you’ll learn the truth about why fats are so important, why eating fat doesn’t make you fat, and which fats you should eat and which you should avoid (and why).

Week 5: Celebration & Moving Forward

In Week 5, we celebrate, because YOU DID IT! We’ll talk about how to move forward with your new habits and ways of eating, plus how to reintroduce certain foods in a systematic way to find out if it serves your body.

I decided to become a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner after I experienced a long journey back to my own health. I ate a Standard American Diet until I was about 24 and struggled with weight, skin problems, fatigue, depression, anxiety, and horrible PMS. Much of this cleared up by slowly making a transition to a more low-inflammatory, nutrient-dense diet, but the most progress I made by far in my own health was when I gave my body a vacation from sugar. Even so, I still struggle with sugar addiction and need to get myself “back on track” from time to time. The times that I’ve done sugar detoxes with the help of another person have been FAR more successful and rewarding than the times I’ve done them on my own. That’s why I’m so excited about being a RESTART® Program instructor: the power of this program comes from doing it with the guidance and support of an instructor and peers.

You may be wondering if this is something that you can do, and I’m here to tell you you absolutely can. Some of the effects from this program might be weight loss, better skin, calmness, clarity of thought, mood stability, less or no joint pain, better sleep, elimination of sugar/carb cravings, more appreciation for the taste of real food and more! And remember – you don’t have to do this on your own! Everything will be explained for you.
